How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is now different in that, my living standards have improved. These days I also feed and sleep well unlike in the past when I couldn't afford land to cultivate or better beddings to sleep on. In addition, I paid off the loan that made me regain ownership of my land where I now cultivate. Before, was left with only half an acre of land to cultivate upon which couldn't produce enough food.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done well by giving me the unconditional cash transfers that have improved my life. On the other hand, there is nothing bad that it has done.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I used my second transfer to buy a cow, food and pay off debts. I also bought a window for my mother.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
When I receive this money, I will buy oxen and an ox-plough for agriculture. I have been hiring ploughing services from other people who have it. This takes money and yet I don't have enough resources that can generate income. So with this opportunity GD is going to bring, I will also be able to have my own and my agricultural practices will improve. I will also be hiring it out so that it can generate more income which we shall use to cater for other basic needs. My house is not doing well in terms of household items. I am apparently sleeping down on a mat because I cannot afford a mattress and good beddings. So the coming of this money will give me and my children an opportunity to have a decent sleep.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening because its the time everyone is at home and we share meals together.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced is lack of money to take care of the family's basic needs such as Education, proper feeding, medical care and clothings.
