How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Yes I have a new plan which I didn't have before receiving this transfer. My new plan is to build a house. I used my first 3 transfers to start a cattle business, furnish my house, and pay my kid's tuation. With my business going well, I now have a goal to build a house for my family.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly does well in that they compensate town residents for any task performed for them. For instance, when GiveDirectly visited our village, I worked with one of their staff as guide. I and all my colleagues who worked with them were given L$500 each for our day's work. GiveDirectly also does well in avoiding corruption/bribery during their enrolment processes. Their staff can't accept even a gift whatsoever. In my opinion, GiveDirectly does not do well in accepting offer from their target villages. In our village, whenever anyone come to work with or help us, the town leadership usually mobilize and prepare food for them. GD did not accept the food prepared for them.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent a considerable portion of my mostt recent transfer to start a cattle business. This is a profitable business as very few people raise cattle in Bomi county. I spent a total of L$ 18000 (US$120) to start this business. I also spent L$ 5000 (US$33.33) on my kids tuation in Mulbah Town Public School. I used the remaining amoun to furnish my room.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was very happy when I received this money. Imagine receiving money that I didn't work for, it is like a shock to me. I felt that it was a gift from God through GiveDirectly. I built a little structure to use as shop about two years. I thought of taking loans to start my own business. Luckily for me, I was selected as one of the beneficiaries.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
At least I will have my own business that will sustain my family and I. I'm feeling much more better in my body as compared to before. I'm feeling empower right now. My worry of establishing my own business will come to past soon. Many thanks to GiveDirectly for helping me with this money.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I will invest the cash into business so as to multiply it. I have a plan to build my own house but building house has a lot of stages. If I just engage the house project right way upon the receipt of the cash, I might likely fill at certain point in time. That's why I think I should put it into business.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Good health has always been my joy. In this condition, if your family members fall sick and no money to cater for the person, what will happen? The person will surely die. Though, we are hugely challenged with every day challenges but, we say, thanks God for his gift of life and good health .
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Sustainable finance to fully take care of family remains my major challenge. I am a Mason by skill but there is no work to do. I only find myself burning cold to make living .
