How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from the way it was four months ago in that I was able to construct a better house and at the same time catered for my children's needs without straining. I can't imagine I was able to pay for their school fees and still built a four-roomed house. I really thank Give Directly for allowing me to achieve these goals at the same time without taking loans or selling any of my valuable assets.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I'm glad I was able to construct a big decent house unfortunately, I wasn't able to finish it. I still have windows and doors that need to be fixed. For the next four months of my life, I have a new goal of raising some money so that I can use it to complete the house. Although I am not worried because much of the work has been done. I only need to fix the windows and buy other households items for the new house
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I do not have a reliable source of income and at the same time, I have children who are both in primary and secondary school. I at times feel overwhelmed by the amount of school fees I need to pay. It is the biggest expense I have at the moment which has made it difficult to save and raise money for constructing a better house. To me, their education came first before any other goal. I'm glad through GD I was able to meet the children's needs and at the same time, I managed to construct a house. I feel proud of myself for having achieved this.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months of my life, I would wish that Give Directly add us more money so that I can use it to complete my house and invest some in business. I am very grateful for the much they have already given me although I wouldn't mind if they added me more money. I would be very happy because I will now focus on investing money on other income generating activities.

Do you have any new goals that you didn't have before receiving the transfer?
Currently I do not have any new goal. I will accomplish what I had in mind first.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My economic life has improved greatly since I received this transfer because my power saw is working and my motorcycle is in perfect condition. I am able to respond to my clients in time. My desire to build a new house has also been boosted by the transfer which I began saving for in my bank account.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I would want to build a new house since the one I have now is too small for my family. I would also want to buy a pick up to help me in my business through transportation.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
My business went down and I was loosing clients at high rate because my power saw was not working but thank to GD, I was able to repair my power saw and I am on my feet and able to serve my clients in time.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I am facing in life is lack of enough money to build a better house. My current house is profusely leaking and this makes it very dangerous especially during rainy season.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the morning when I get hired to offer the carpentry labor. This gives me hope because by the end of the services, I usually get paid and buy food for my family.
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to spend the transfer in constructing a new modern and spacious house. The house I am living in is very small and in poor condition.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
My proudest achievement is purchase of carpentry tools. This has enabled me to secure some casual work that need related skills hence forming my main source of income.
