How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is totally different compared to the past one. I did not have a house of my own, and being a family man, I felt embarrassed to seek for refuge from neighborhood with my wife and a child. Sometimes the owner could come from the city without notice, and could result to leaving even if it could be at night. It is true that a miracle has happened and couldn't believe that I own a house of my own.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has been like manna from heaven to salvage economic problem in the society. People have been empowered both socially and economically. I myself realized that no body will like to remain in poverty bondage, but they struggle for economic liberation.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent the second transfer on building a house, being that the first transfer I spent on building materials and other items in the house. I am now proud to say that GD has made me to own a house of my own and I am proud of that. I did not have any shelter of my own and I am a family man. We used to live in my neighbour's son house and whenever he came from the city, we had to give way and the only reliable alternative was my mother's cooking house.

Receiving this money means a lot to me. I will use it to build a bigger semi permanent house for my family since I currently stay in a very small single room house which is not adequate for my family.
