How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is much different in that I was able to complete the construction of my three classroom block. My students are now happy and studying very well.
In the past, I only had one block and other pupils would always study under mango trees.
This was affecting their concentration.
I am very grateful that the GiveDirectly cash transfers hav saved me from incurring debts and loans.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly does well to send cash transfers directly to the people without segregation.
However, my only suggestion is that GiveDirectly should reward recipients who utilized their cash transfers well through adding more cash transfers.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer to purchase 40 iron sheets, 10 bags of cement, 10 pieces of timber. These construction materials enabled the completion of my three classroom block.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that, I have less stress than it was before because the learners will study under good shelter. Before I received this cash transfer, children used to study under trees and that stressed me a lot.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my cash transfer, I felt happy because I had started construction of my nursery school, the wall was at roofing level but I had lacked money to complete it to enable the learners study in a conducive environment.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent UGX 920,000 on buying iron sheets, timber costed UGX 700,000 and the balance of UGX 80,000 was spent on transporting those materials towards building a classroom block.
