How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I have managed to put up a spacious comfortable house and my life has definitely change because I am now staying in a very spacious house where i can move freely and eve arrange my households in order without any stress. I have also started livestock farming where I am very sure it will do better and I will have so many goats that I can sell when I have emergency as compared to before when I had nothing, if I had to depend on thinks that can not support anything.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent most of the transfer to buy building materials and built a spacious comfortable house. I was staying in a very small house that could not accommodate me with my family. When I got visitors i used to be very uncomfortable because they could not sit freely the in the house. Most of the time I could also put things in one corner for easy movement. Since I built a spacious house I am very happy because I am now staying in very comfortably house, even if I have the visitors I am not worried I used to be worried before. I also spent the transfer to start animal rearing by buying heads of goats. I thought of starting livestock keeping because I am planning to use them in future by selling them and spending the money incase of any emergency. I will not need to depend on relatives when I have any emergency.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I have furniture in my house and I no longer shy off hosting visitors because I have my own.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received money from GiveDirectly,I was so happy. I thought this was a miracle. The fact that it was free money made me happier.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent the money I received from GiveDirectly on buying new furniture. I did not have seats before and anytime I hosted visitors,I had to borrow seats from neighbour. I also spent some on buying a solar lamp to replace the tin lamp I was using. The remaining amount I spent on food for my family consumption.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means hope and improved human dignity in my life. I would like to spend the transfer on buying furniture and food for my family.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the afternoon when I get paid for casual labor services and buy food for my children.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I am facing in life is extreme poverty. I lack means of income and solely depend on casual labor that is seasonal and tedious. This make it very difficult to provide for my family.
