How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Two of my children are currently in high school and the weight that comes with the payment of school fees is quite a heavy one. My spouse used to struggle to pay from his small business and I could chip in with the little I get from farming. When we started receiving these transfers, I started saving and then use the savings to pay some part of the school fees. This has reduced the burden that almost entirely lied on my spouse. I am happy that my spouse can now focus on investing in other income-generating activities that will help us in our future plans.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
Now that we are almost done with the transfer, I want to start saving and buy a heifer for rearing. This will in the near future be a source of income to us from the sale of milk produced. This will also be an asset that can come handy in case there's an emergency that requires money because it can easily be liquidified.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
Since I started receiving the transfers from Give Directly, I have never gone a day without the basic needs and the small household items that are used at home. Before I started receiving, my children would sometimes take sugarless tea or just a small snack for lunch and I could clearly notice their discomfort. I am glad that now I am able to provide enough food for them and I am happy for Give Directly for enabling me to do this.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My expectation in the near future is to have an improved lifestyle and future for my family. I want my children to have good health and excel in their studies by ensuring that I cater for their school fees. Seeing my children excel in both school work and the general life will make me a happy parent and that is my prayer.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was four months ago because I have gained the capacity to support an orphaned child. Besides, I have more food and money for supporting my family. As a result, my family tends to be more jovial and healthy. Still, I am optimistic of a huge harvest because I managed to hire a tractor to plough my land unlike before when we used to dig it with our hands. I also managed to buy and plant high-quality seeds and fertilizers.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
The additional goal for my life for the next four months is to buy and raise at least 15 hens. I chose to prioritize on poultry farming because it seems easily affordable to me. Moreover, poultry farming demands less labor and takes a relatively short time to mature. Thus, I will use my savings to finance the project.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is that I have afforded to pay school fees for all my three children who are at secondary school. Besides, I have managed to pay college fees for my daughter who has just joined college to further her studies. I have been saving the transfers through table banking to finance education for my children. Still, I attained some financial boost from my husband. Overall, I am happy to ensure that all of my children further their studies by paying fees on time.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change significantly in the next six months. This is because I will be getting more income from the sale of eggs that I get from my poultry. Besides, we shall be having sufficient food in our household since we shall have harvested the maize that we planted last month. Additionally, I will be getting milk from at least one of the cows. Subsequently, we shall be enjoying a balanced diet. Still, I will start a new business of buying and selling tea to gain more revenue for supporting my family and paying school fees for my children. Thus, I will be leading a more optimistic life.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
In the year 2010 - 2011, I faced the biggest hardship in my life. One of my neighbors wanted to grab our land. He ( the neighbor) used court orders to block us from using our resouces that entail trees and farmlands. Consequently, we were left helpless since we were denied the sole source of our livelihood. We could hardly find something to eat.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is at the morning when sharing breakfast with my healthy family. I feel it is God's grace and blessings to live.
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to spend my transfer on pay fees for my two kids who are at secondary school.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
In the year 2012, some I received and planted french beans from a certain well-wisher. After harvesting and selling the french beans, I used the proceeds to purchase and plant potatoes in half an acre of land. Luckily, I realized good harvest (15 sacks) from the potatoes. I sold the potatoes and used the proceeds to pay school fees for my kid who was joining secondary school. I find that this was my great achievement since I was able to ensure that my first born joined secondary. By then, my husband was unable to pay fees for our child.
