How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I am just a house wife and my husband is a casual laborer who does manual jobs, it has been a real struggle to provide basic needs for my family. My life is now different as I now own livestock which I never did, this brightens the future of my children as I am hoping the project will grow. This will help us have a sustainable income to provide the best education for them. We also have enough food so I will no longer sacrifice to skip some meals for the sake of my babies.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GiveDirectly has done us well by giving us transfers as this will enable us to prioritize the money usage according to our needs. I just think the the organization should have included all youth in their project irrespective of their marital status as most of them are jobless and they can not afford to raise families.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I used the second transfer to buy dairy cows and bulls to add to what I had bought during the first transfers, hoping this livestock rearing project will expand and be more productive in the future thus giving me sustainable income to provide the best education for my children as I will use to pay their school fee. I used the rest of the transfers to buy a sack of maize and clothes for my family.
