How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been because I have peace of mind, and my family feeds and sleeps well. Before, thinking a lot and worries occupied my mind, and we would go without food at times due to lack means to get money.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well giving people money directly to acquire items like land, livestock, household items such clothes, mattresses. It also gives advice to the community about security of their transfers, and they hire well disciplined staff. There's nothing it hasn't done well in the village.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
My second transfer was spent to make bricks, buy other building materials like sand and cement, buy food, then saved the balance to be used when I am ready to start constructing an iron sheet roofed house.
