How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Four months a go, I used to engage myself in more casual jobs just to make sure that we have enough money for the family to buy food and other basic necessities. This gave me very little time to attend to my own income generating activities such as farming at home. It also meant that I often had to overwork myself and at the end of the day I could not get enough food with some times having to sleep hungry. I now work less to earn a living and this has provided me with an opportunity and energy to attend to my own projects at home. I can now comfortably do farming at home, eat well and have a good time with family, something I could not do before. I feel more relaxed than I have ever been.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
In the next four months, we expect to have bought at least one dairy cow for the family. This will help us get a cheap source of protein from the milk produced and further increase our family's income sources through the milk sold.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
Over the last four months, we have been able to bring our new house to its completion. For a long time, we had desired to have a new and more spacious house for the family considering that our family had grown. This had at some point seemed impossible to us due to little income that we got from casual labour that only gave us barely enough to feed the family and nothing to save for any projects or investments. After receiving the transfers, we have been able to come together and do the things that affects us all jointly. We have been able to build a new home while at the same time buy food with little difficulty.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I expect to be fully self employed. I am looking forward to be fully engaged in my farming activities such as doing horticultural farming and rearing my livestock for commercial purposes and for local consumption as well.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
In 2013,i was diagnosed with anaemia and admitted at Kaplong Hospital. This became a very difficult period for my family because in the two weeks which i was there, the hospitall bill accumulated to sh 32000 which was hard to raise since we had no source of income. My young children too had to skip school because there was nobody to take care of them while I was away. This is the biggest hardship i have faced

The happiest part of my day is in the evening when my family is all together. When my children arrive from school,we talk and if i had any issue stressing me out they make me forget it.
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I plan to spend the transfer in buying tea seedlings to plant so that in future it will give me some income to sustain my family

Last year,I leased a piece of land and planted beans.I had a good harvest of 3 bags and each bag sold for sh 5000.With the money I got,I bought goats which increased in number and I later sold a few.The remaining ones now provide milk for my family. This is the achievement am proudest of.
