What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent a portion of my third transfer on a set of sofa to furnish my house which had previously been furnished by 3 plastic chairs that were borrowed from my neighbor. Secondly, I purchased a bag of maize and other food stuffs for my children. Despite being a widow, I can brag that Give Directly has greatly improved my living standard. What did you spend your second transfer on?
When I received my first lumpsum transfer, I plastered the floor of my 2 room room house with 15750 KES, I spent 7000 KES on a steel door, 7200 KES on 2 steel windows, I spent 5000 KES on a table and the remaining 15050 KES on food and clothing for my household members.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
Initially, I lived in a dusty house, floor made of clay that could make us suffer frequent respiratory related diseases, however, we are now living a healthier life since GD has enabled us eradicate dust which is the biggest difference in our daily lives.

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to spend my transfer on renovating my house as I will buy eight bags of cement, I will buy furniture for my house which will include chairs, I will also spend part of the transfer on paying school fees for my children who are in primary school and the remaining amount I will spend on hiring a piece of land that I can plough and plant my food crops.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
The achievement that I am proudest of is that when my husband died I did not have a house but I managed to do some casual work as a waiter in a hotel and I saved the cash that I earned which I used in building the house that I now stay in.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I face in my life is that getting food for my family is not easy as I only depend on casual jobs and if I don't manage to get one in a day then my family will have no food to eat.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is when I manage to get a casual job when I go out in the morning as this assures me that my family will have food to eat in the evening when I go back to the house.
