How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been because my family changes meals, dress and sleep better with clothes, mattress bought with this money, and soon, we will be sleeping under an iron sheet roofed house. Before, we used to sleep on the ground using mats, my children walked half naked and it was difficult to afford meals regularly.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done well giving money directly to enable me sleep under an iron sheet roofed house, buy household items like mattress, bed sheets, curtains, clothes. In the community, it has uplifted people's livelihoods through acquiring livestock, taxi motorcycles and lit up homes at night through solars. I don't see anything it hasn't done well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
My second transfer was spent to buy building materials such as cement, bricks, timber, iron sheets, paid construction labour to build an iron sheet roofed house.
