How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that I am currently a happy person. This is because receiving this transfer has enabled me to acquire some assests such as cattle. It has as well helped me to improve the standard of living in my family through the household items that I bought making my home look presentable.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done well by bringing happiness to my home. This is through the money that they have given me. However, there is nothing wrong that GiveDirectly has done.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
I live a daily happy life because GD has elevated my standards of living to a certain stage. First and foremost I could not afford this kind of money at once but I thank God for GD that has enabled me acquire livestock, Household items and pay school fees for my children through this transfer. Secondly I can afford to change diet in my family because previously It was so difficult to change diet. We feasted on mostly on the same food which was so boring and nagging to my household.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I became so happy at that point in time when I realised that GD had sent my transfer. The money was sent in the night but I was unable to see the message until morning when I saw the message. I felt like calling the hotline but I was afraid because some community member scared the hell out of me that we shall be contacted by GD officers.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I decided to spend my transfer on purchasing livestock and I bought two in number a cow and a calf. I bought household items like a mattress, bed sheets, curtains, clothes and utensils. I have kept aside some money that I will use to pay school fees for my children.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
When I receive this money, I will buy seeds for planting now that the rains have come. We had no money to afford quality seeds but now this is going to be the chance we shall utilize to purchase them. I will also pay school fees . This has been a challenge to us but with the GD transfers, the burden will be reduced as we shall use part of the money to pay for the school dues. If there will be any balance, we shall buy some household items like beddings, clothes, utensils and many others where necessary.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my life is in the evening because its the time I get done with most of the work. It is also the time I'm resting and sharing a good time with other family members.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in my life is illness. I have recurring back and chest pains which limit my input into agricultural work. And agriculture is our main source of income.
