What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent my third transfer on debt repayment (10,000 KES), building a house for my second wife (21,000 KES), bought a bed and mattress (8,000 KES), bought clothes and food for my family (10,000 KES)
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that I repaid a long-standing debt and feel relieved, managed to put up a decent house for my second wife whom I married after losing my first, and furnished her house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, Give Directly has done a good job by sending us transfers directly, rather than through middle –men and this has created more impact and changed our lives in different ways in this village. What is not done well is that total transfer size was small, and in my view if the amount was substantial, the impact would have been even greater.

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I would like to use part of the money to build a house since we do not have our own house. Secondly l would wish to buy household items for my house. Finally l would like to open up a business to generate income to help support my family.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
My proudest achievement is that l have struggled to take my children to school.

My biggest hardship in life is lack of money to pay school fees for our children.
