How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has changed now, I sleep in an iron roofed house which was constructed with this money. I am sleeping on a good bed having bought a mattress. Before, I slept on a mat and in a grass thatched house that could leak during rainy season.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly did well to give me money. The staff did not ask for any bribes from me or other community members. They handled us with good customer care at all stages of their work. There is nothing they are doing bad.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer for buying construction materials. These include; 11 ironsheets, timber, 7 bags of cement and nails. I paid for labour, a medical bill, saved some money and bought food.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is feeling happy most of the time as I see my house in the verge of completion and my family and I moving into it soon.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I recieved my money, I felt so happy that at last I was going to put up a permanent house.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer on buying building materials such as bricks, iron sheets, timber, cement that I used to build my permanent house. I then had to pay the laborers who helped in the construction work. Building was my priority since the house I am using is in the state of falling and it leaks. Therefore, this new house will relieve me from from a leaking roof.
