How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I can now feed my family n pay my children's school fees with much ease. Before I never used to earn much from the work I was doing, but now with the money, I can pay their school fees and am happy to see them educated. My family can now eat chapati when they want before we could only smell it from neighbours as they cooked, now we eat with no limits. i can now sleep in a warm house before it was quite cold and not so comfortable, I have also been able to buy a television, earlier my children used to watch television at our neighbours' house and it was shameful. My business is doing so well, i have added more stock and as a result, more customers are coming to my shop.My request is that when GiveDirectly gets more money please come back and support us.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, there is nothing that GiveDirectly does wrong. It has only done well. The money I received from GiveDirectly has enabled me to progress well in life. If I was to compare myself to those who refused to receive this money, I can say I am way ahead. For this, I am so grateful to GiveDirectly. All I see ahead is elevation and development from my end. GiveDirectly did well by coming to the grassroots directly without involving the government if they did I would have never received this money.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I bought two goats with my second transfer. i decided to buy them since i know they can be able to reproduce and later i can sell them and get to earn from them. I have always wanted to rebuild my house, with that I bought a door and some windows. I have also been able to buy clothes both for myself and for my family, they can now look presentable and smart.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
I used the cash to boost my business which now generates more finances for me. I then buy food for my family. Buying food for the family is now not a problem for me anymore because I shop around to get a balanced diet for them
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt extremely happy because I had been anxiously waiting for money for almost a week without seeing it. I was so jubilated and I knew it was the right time for me to transform my life.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I used the cash to boost my business so that it can be able to generate more income for me in the future. I ahve already started big from the idea of boosting the business becaue right now I get more profits that I use to sort the financial needs of my family. I also managed to spare part of the cash which I I used to build a new house where I currently live with my family.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money makes me so happy. I plan to use my transfers to expand my kiosk business. I would like to open another kiosk within the village so that my wife can run it. This will help increase our income.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the morning when I get to wake up healthy and strong and know that the good Lord has kept me alive.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in life is the loss of my father. This hindered me from joining the University as my mother could not afford to pay my school fees.
