What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
I have been yearning to become independent and reduce reliance on my tour guide job. This is a seasonal job that requires an additional job during low seasons. My ambitions have been to own a boat and a fishing net to venture into fishing and earn extra cash. To start, I intend to spend my first transfer buying 10 fishing nets, each costing KES 300. I will then spend the second transfer to buy a boat which costs KES 30000. Give Directly will mark a turning point in my life in leading a fulfilled life through these cash transfers.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Being a tour guide and approaching peak season, I am already realizing sufficient cash compared to other months. This month alone, I have already made KES 8000 yet we have not come to the end of it. I am filled with awe knowing that I am now able to cater to family's needs without much hustle.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The lack of sufficient funds in our household is making our lives complex. My wife is only a housewife, and I am a tour guide in the nearby resort. My job is occasional, and due to this, getting a constant income is hard, and we cannot plan and or budget for the little cash we get in a day. On average, I get approximately KES 4,000 a month, which is low compared to the recurrent household expenditures and hard economic times. My ambition has been to own fishing nets to do fishing in low seasons. Give Directly will become a beacon of hope in realizing my ambition and I am glad that soon it will come to pass.
