My life is different from how it would have been four months ago in that I have always had food in my house. We have always eaten different kinds of food in my house unlike before the transfers. In the past, we used to struggled to put food on the table. This is because we used to depend on a small income from the motorcycle business. Since we had many family needs, we would be forced to forgo some meals so as to meet other needs. With GD transfers, I have been able to meet all my family needs well and in time as well as having three meals a day comfortably.

In the next four months, I have a new goal of buying a generator. I would want to use the generator to start the irrigation project for tomatoes and onions plantations which I want to start. I would want to have a stable source of income apart from the motorcycle business which I have now. This will change my financial life and help me serve my family.

Before the transfers, I used to live in a grass thatched house. I was not feeling very comfortable in it because most of my colleagues have iron-roofed houses. I have been feeling left out because of my low income from the motorcycle business, I was not able to build one. I had started savings for building a new house and I ended up using the savings for family emergencies such as mostly, medication and food. I was almost giving up in having an iron-roofed house. When I started receiving these transfers, I started using them to pay for building materials such as nails, timber and iron sheets bit by bit which I have used in building an iron-roofed house. I feel very rich in this kind of house. Thanks to GD.

I expect my life to change in the next six months in that I will have bought the generator and started the irrigation project. The motorcycle business I am in currently does not give the kind of income I wish to earn. Before the transfers come to an end, I would want to use it to start the irrigation project which I know will change my financial life.

I have been investing so much in farming which has so far yielded positive results because I have been able to feed my family very easily which relieves me from the daily expenditures of purchasing food on a day to day basis. I only need to go the farm and harvest whatever is on the farm and that is how life has been so far.

My goal currently includes expanding my business by buying more bales of second-hand clothes as compared to what I am currently able to purchase. The reason I want to expand my business is to be able to get more profits in the future.

I have been using the money to meet my financial needs with the utmost ease. I recently bought a new motorbike worth approximately 65000 KES which I have been using to make my business operations much easier.

Currently, I have to keep on moving with my goods from one market place to the next which is quite cumbersome considering the distance I have to travel every time plus the transport charges. What I want to do is to get a permanent place where I can be doing my business so that I do not have to be moving from place to place like I have been doing.

Apart from having a house I have always wanted to have, I also have poultry in my home. I used to live in a kind of life where anytime I had an emergency, I would have to borrow money since I could not raise money very fast through casual work. Right now, I have my own poultry which I can sell to raise money to solve emergency financial issues. I feel I am not as poor as I was before the transfers came. I feel I can sustain my family needs comfortably with GD transfers and my poultry business.

My new goal in the next four months is to buy a cow which will be an investment for my family and when it reproduces, I will be able to sell the milk to raise an income. I can also sell it or its savings to raise money to pay school fees for my child or any other family needs.

The biggest difference in my life since I started receiving these transfers is that I have a new iron-roofed house. Before the transfers, I used to live in a grass thatched house which was too small and I had a family too. It was a shame since most people in the village had iron-roofed houses yet I was in a grass thatched house. I had desired to have an iron-roofed house just like my peers so that I don't look poorer in the village. I was not able to get the house because my family needs were surpasing my income. I am glad GD helped me achieve the dream which I was almost giving up on.

In the next six months, I would want to start a hotel business. I want to have a stable source of income through transfers. I would not want to go back to the struggles I used to have before. I want to have a comfortable life where I provide for my family without straining. This is the reason why I want to have a business.

I had no decent chairs in my house as had only stools, but I was able to save part of these transfers and bought decent chairs.

My main goal right now is to expand my business so that I can maximize my profits in order to be able to achieve my dream of building a new house.

These transfers have taken a huge burden off my shoulders in terms of the family provisions because when I receive them, I am able to shop in bulk.

I am planning to construct a stall in the next few months so that I can have a permanent sales position which will come with other benefits such as having permanent customers.

The biggest difference in my daily life is that my income has grown given that I have managed to boost and start various business using the money I have been receiving.

In the next six months, I expect to have changed my grass thatched to an iron roofed house.

My current life is different in that I am able to feed my life more comfortably with the profits I have been making since I started receiving these transfers.

My new goal is to construct a bit more spacious kiosk to expand my house.
