What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent my third transfer on buying an oxen that makes my ploughing much easier and faster compared to the hand plough that I had. I also bought school uniforms for my children and paid their school fees.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Receiving the transfer has made my life different in that it has saved me the money I would have used to pay people to plough for me. My children no longer dresses in rags in the name of school uniforms.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, Givedirectly has done well in giving us nonrefundable transfers, the fact that they are non refundable has made most of us make good progress, however some young people from my village have taken advantage of the money not being refunded thus used it unwisely.

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to buy two oxen and a ploughing machine which I will use when tilling my farm. The remaining transfers will be used to buy sand, cement, timber, round poles, nails and iron roofing sheets which I will use to build a better house for my family.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
My proudest achievement is having bought a cow which has given birth to one calf and also being able to pay school fees for my children, all these activities have been possible because I always go to work on other people's farms and save my earnings diligently.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I face right now is that since my husband died I have been the sole breadwinner for my family and it is very difficult providing them with basic necessities since I do not have a steady job.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening after finishing any tasks that I had planned for the day. I usually relax with my family as we wait for dinner and this makes me very happy because we are together as a family.
