How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I am healthy and happy because part of the cash transfer was spent on my treatment. Before I received the cash transfer I was stressed and full of sorry most of the time.
I am very happy because I dress decently and I am respected in the community. More so I am now debt free after clearing an old loan which was an impediment to me because I had provided my land as collateral.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my GiveDirectly does well to send cash transfers to the people without any strings attached to it. On the other hand I do not see anything that GiveDirectly has not done well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second cash transfer to purchase a pair of oxen worth UGX1,000,000. I also spent UGX200,000 to clear an outstanding loan and UGX200,000 to hire a piece of farm land. I also spent UGX80,000 to purchase a mattress and UGX20,000 was spent on buying food. I spent UGX100,000 to clear my medical bills.

The biggest difference in my daily life,I feel very happy because I no longer have stress, my house is clean and we also dress well (afford to change clothes).

I have spent my first transfer to purchase bicycle at 300,000ugx,livestock (1 pig) at 150,000ugx,paid debt of school fees at 260,000ugx,uniforms for my children at 70,000ugx,2 travel bags at 90,000ugx,clothes at 306,000ugx,treatment at 80,000ugx ,food (pork meat ) at 30,000ugx and there is a balance but she is not sure of how much.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means restoring back the gardens that I hired out and educating my children.
