How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
There is really a big difference after receiving the money compared to how it would have been without the transfers. I managed to buy a piece of land, a cow and also ensured adequate availability of foodstuff for my family. This would not have been possible without the transfers and we are still grateful and welcoming GiveDirectly to our village again if there will ever be any project of the same.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, the GiveDirectly program in our village and specifically in our household did us a great favor. how it was initiated till the end was really excellent and we really appreciated it a lot. We started a lot of projects which up to date are still changing our lives and making them better.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
Receiving the second transfer from GiveDirectly was a great blessing to my family, It really brought us a lot of changes which we are still enjoying to date. It was then when my wife was admitted to the hospital and I had to use part of the money on settling the hospital bill. With the remaining amount, I constructed a chicken coop as I was starting a poultry project and used the last bit of it on completion of the payment of a piece of land we were buying.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that I have been enabled to do improve my farming because I will be able to hire a farm where I shall plant maize, am also planning to buy a cow that can produce milk for family use and surplus can be sold to bring family income.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest part of the day is usually in the morning because of it offering a new opportunity to seek for work in peoples farm, the earning that comes as a result brings that joy.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced was seeing my crops getting swept away by floods by the long rains, this affected me so much that I harvested very little after spending so much money in the farm we already started buying maize for family use yet I do not have a reliable source of income.
