How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Before, I would worry much about the possible ways to purchase household items and provide for my family's needs. This is because the money I made from doing manual jobs like cultivating my neighbor's farms could barely sustain my family's basic needs such as food and clothes. GiveDirectly's transfer came in handy since I have been able to buy household items and now I am glad that I leave at the comfort of my home. The money that I make nowadays goes towards the provision of my family's daily needs without worrying about saving them purposely to invest in household items like before.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion , GiveDirectly did well through giving its beneficiaries money which has never happen in my community with other organisations that provides donations . GiveDirectly's approach enable the beneficiaries to spend the money on there prioritized needs . I do not see what was a miss in its operation .
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer to buy a mattress and a bed . I now have enough rest through the night unlike before when I used to sleep in an old thin slim mattress which I couldn't tell the difference of sleep on the wooden bed nor a mattress. I also bought a decent seats ,Television set , Solar lamp and a music system .
