Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference so far is that I feel very empowered and satisfied. I operate a small clinic which needed medical equipment to operate effectively. With the cash transfer, I have acquired medical equipment that will improve on my service delivery to the patients. Previously, I did not have a well established laboratory facility to enable me execute my services effectively. With these new equipment I will be able to serve the community and thus earn income.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I received the money while in Tororo district where I had gone to process my drugshop licence. I felt very happy at that moment because my prayers had been answered through GiveDirectly.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent the first cash transfer to purchase medical equipment such as a glucometer worth UGX 145000 , a microscope worth UGX 900000. I also spent UGX 300000 on buying tables for the clinic. I spent the remaining cash transfer on purchasing drugs.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to expand my business. Before I finished school, I had the dream of starting my own business so when I finally qualified, I had to make my dream come true. I borrowed a bank loan and opened a clinic within my locality. This made me feel good. This transfers will help me introduce the laboratory bit of it and my work will be simplfied. I will not be referring patients to carry out tests else where but rather do them from within my vicinity.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happiest in the evening when I am watching footbal with friends. I feel relaxed.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I am faced with is inadequacy of money to provide all that I need to make my work easier. I operate a clinic but I do not have labaratory services because of financial constraints. To start up this business, I borrowed a bank loan which I just struggled to pay. I could not save as much as I expected so it kind of effects my business. The stock is small.
