How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
For the last four months, I have bought a few domestic animals which I could not have bought were it not for the cash transfers from Give Directly. Being a peasant farmer, it becomes an uphill task to be able to buy these animals because they are so expensive.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I have a plan of making some savings every month so that I can able to pay some cash to the Kenya power company company so that they can drop their cables into my home. I am tired of using the kerosene lamps which are quite harmful to my health.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I have seen a lot of changes with the cash transfers because for one I have been able to buy ten new iron sheets which i started buying when the organization started sending us transfers one year ago. I need a new house because the one I live in currently is very old and keeps leaking excessively whenever it rains. The walls are so old so I have to keep on swabbing every time using cow-dung.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
After the house will have been constructed within the next few months to come, I will get into a savings plan that will enable me to buy a few bags of cement and sand tat I will use to cement my house and make it a semi-permanent structure which can last for several years to come.

I have managed to buy more iron sheets and this makes me a happy man because this is an indication to me that I am soon getting closer to my dream of building a more spacious and strong new house that will accommodate my family members comfortably. I am also eating well due to bumper harvest we received during last season having spent well my transfer on farming, my health has really improved and I have even added more weight.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
Currently, Iam still planning on how to build my new house which was my initial and greatest goal. Immediately I finish building the house, I wish to furnish it immediately with new sofa sets.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I no longer sleep hungry unlike before when we used to drink porridge for three consecutive days without eating ugali due to food scarcity. I have been investing my money in buying fertilizer, hybrid seeds and also hiring labour hence getting a bumper harvest. I have enough food to feed my family. We are now eating a well-balanced diet which has even in improved our health . I thank Give Directly for having changed my life.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect to have build my new and spacious house because that is my greatest dream. In the next six I months I will be staying in a more decent house. I also have plan of buying a new sofa set once I finish building my house I surely will be the proudest man in my village due to Give directly transfers after accomplishing all these.
