What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer to buy 15 iron sheets, and bricks worth 600,000 UGX, and beddings for my household and I also spent 250,000 UGX in hiring a garden then I also spent 320,000 UGX on paying the builders.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Since I am a widow, I am very happy that Givedirectly did well to give me money that enabled me to construct a house and improve on our standards of living.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Before I received the transfer my life was very hard. I could not afford medical care and life was hopeless. But when the transfers came I was able to establish a personal business which I generating income and on top of that the second transfer has enabled me construct a house which I am yet to complete.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I was abke to Purchase two mattresses, a bed , two pairs of bed sheets and iron sheets in order to improve on our living conditions.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I ululated for the miraculous rescue that came to my life. This has never been in place ever since time in memorial.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
My life has changed since I now sleep in a mattress and so are my children, waking up is so difficult because you feel like you still want to continue sleeping. I am going to use the iron sheets to construct a better house for my family members to stay in when the second money comes.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means building a house for my children to sleep.I intend to use part of this money to also buy livestock for my children.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship i have faced is lack of money to cater for my children's frequent medical illness. My children are so sickly that sometimes I end up selling my only kept livestock at home for their treatment.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening.This is the time when my primary school children return back home from school.This children make me happy while they are at home since they sing songs learnt from school to me.
