What did you spend your third transfer on?
When I received my third transfer, I spent it on 3 bulls and food. First and foremost, I have been a farmer for many years but my production had not been good due to methods of production I could rely on for instance, we could plow using hoes which were not efficient enough to increase ones production and this could explain constant famine we could succumb to but thank to Give Directly for enabling me buy a bull which will make me harvest more.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been if I never received cash transfer in that I have moved out of a grass-thatched house to an iron-roofed house. The former one could require frequent maintenance and again, it was not waterproof. Besides, I have managed to expand my farming activities and this has boosted my food production.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Give Directly sends its cash transfers independently without relying on government however, this project should not just be confined within a specific boundary unit but instead replicated more as opposed to some few villages benefiting as you did.

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
We are planning to buy some window frames and panes for our new house. The remaining transfers will be used to buy some iron roofing sheets, timber and nails which I will use to enlarge my current house. If there are any funds remaining I plan to buy my spouse some tools which he can use when he is constructing houses.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
My proudest achievement is having an apprentice tailor. I managed to successfully gain skills in tailoring and can easily get work as a tailor.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I face right now is lack of enough money to buy a sewing machine. I am a qualified tailor and would like to earn some income for myself and my family but this is not possible.

The happiest part of my day is when I am tending to my vegetable garden. It makes me very happy when I see my vegetables doing well because I know that when I sell them I will have some money.
