How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been because I have an iron sheet roofed house that makes me proud. Before, I used to be distressed with the grass thatched house which would leak during a rainy season, and the scarcity of roofing grass makes it even more stressful.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done well giving us money directly that has enabled people to build permanent houses, acquire livestock, cultivation land, pay children school fees. There's nothing it hasn't done well in my opinion.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
My second transfer was spent mostly to buy building materials, especially timber, iron sheets, cement, and a door. The balance went into feeding.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
This financial support has enabled me start up the construction of a permanent house. I have high hope of moving to my iron roofed house that is currently at the beam level. The completion will be after receiving the second transfer. I will be relieved from the burden of looking for grass for renovating the hut that I live in now.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was overwhelmed by Joy the moment I learnt that I had received money from Givedirectly because I knew that I would be in position to construct a permanent house.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer to purchase 10 bags of cement, aggregate, 3 trips of bricks and paying construction labour. I have not yet spent UGX 600,000 but I intend to spent it for buying more building materials(iron bars and cement)
