I have a big family of seven children and we do not always fit well in our previous house. This is because it was not big enough to accommodate us well especially at night. It was a one-roomed house and I would have to sent some of my children to sleep at my neighbours' house. Whenever I had visitors, I would have to really struggle to find sleep place for my visitors. As a result, I would not always feel comfortable asking for friends to visit me for sleep-overs. Due to this problem I have gone through for the last year, I started planning of how to get building materials to build a new house. At the time I was getting my first transfer, I had not even made any savings hence I used my transfer to buy building materials such as nails, cement, iron sheets and timber. I have used the materials to put up a three-bedroom house which accommodates us well with a good number of visitors. Thanks to GD for the transfer I no longer shy off from welcoming friends to visit me.

GD did well in giving cash to everyone. Unlike other NGOs who gives an item, GD transfer was very helpful because every need of the villagers was met. Not everyone has the same needs hence the move to give money was a great idea to solving most of our needs. I fell everything was done correctly and I don't feel there is anything GD could have done better.

I spent my transfer on buying building materials such as timber, a sofa set, clothes and pay school fees arrears for my children. I used my first transfer on buying building materials but I was not able to buy all the materials I needed hence for me to complete building a new house, I was shot of timber. This is why I used part of my second transfer to buy timber so that I could finally have the house I have always wanted. I did not have good household items such as seats hence I used my transfer to buy a sofa set so that we could move into the new house with seats and also buy new clothes for my family. We have used the clothes we have for long and I felt its time we get new ones. The rest of it I used to pay school fees arrears for my children in secondary. They had been sent home because of the arears and had they stayed home for a week as I was still looking for the money to pay. I would have taken long to get the money if it were not for the transfers. The transfers were a very big relief in my life because, without it, I would not have managed to get all these done on my own. I was already overwhelmed with needs.

The biggest difference right now is that I am able to see the cows that I recently bought. I will be able to get milk from the domestic animals in the near future.

When I received the cash from the organization.

I used the money to buy two cows worth thirty thousands shillings in addition to buying a new bed and a mattress that we will be using to sleep in. I had a house but I lacked the essentials that i have already mentioned above.
