How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from the way it was four months ago in that my income has improved which has led to improved living standards. This is because I was able to boost my retail shop business with the first transfer. The worries I had of the business collapsing are no more. Additionally, I feel proud I now own the kind of seats I have been dreaming of.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
In the next four months of my life, I have an additional goal of constructing a bigger kitchen. Currently, I have a single room kitchen which serves as a cooking place, sleeping place for my children and at the same time where I keep my poultry. I feel I am not doing justice to my children and I would want them to have a better sleeping place than what they have now.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I was able to boost my business with the previous transfer by adding more stock and I'm happy it has picked up so well. I'm able to earn a good income from it through the profits which have given me an easy time meeting the families needs in time. This is the biggest difference in my daily life.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I would like to have started a large scale poultry farming. Currently, I keep poultry but in small scale because I do not have a large poultry house and the resources to feed them. After constructing a bigger kitchen, I'll use the current kitchen to keep the poultry which will help keep as many poultry as I can.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life since I started receiving the money is that I was able to revive my business which was on the verge of collapsing. The business is doing well and I'm able to comfortably meet my family needs.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect to have expanded my business and if possible to be selling commodities at a whole sale.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is currently different from the way it would have been in that I'm now more focused because I now have a stable source of income. Previously all that I could budget for was the basic needs because the income I was earning was too little.
Do you have any new goals that you didn't have before receiving the transfer?
I have a new goal of expanding my business by adding more variety of stock so that people can get everything they need.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I am facing in life is domestic violence. My husband married another wife and has since neglected me. He is irresponsible and assaults me more often. This interferes a lot with my human dignity and self worth in the society.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening after making good sales. I usually feel responsible when I buy some food for my children.
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to spend the transfer on expanding my small scale business. This will increase my sales and profit therefore enabling me to provide for my family.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
The achievement I am most proud of is provision of education to my children. They lead a better life than me and sometimes send me money for family support. This makes me happy.
