What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent most of my third transfer to buy building materials like cement, sand and ballast which I have used to renovate my house from mud to plastered. I also paid school fees for my child who is in high school and also built a bathroom in my own compound.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that, I now live in a plastered house and also have my own bathroom and no longer bathe by the river side. Thank you GD.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly did well in sending us money directly through Mpesa account which is safe and convenient. I have not seen anything they did not do well.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to spend my transfer on buying furniture for my house as I will buy chairs and tables, I will spend part of the transfer on buying food and clothes for my children. I will spend part of the transfer on paying school fees for my children who are in secondary school and another one in college and the remaining amount I will spend on building a kitchen which my kids can use as their bedroom at night.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
The achievement that I am proudest of is that I use to have a tomatoe farm which I managed to maintain till I got cash that I used for building the house that I currently stay in.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I face in my life is that getting school fees for my children and food to eat is a problem as our income is very low. This has forced my daughter drop out of school after finishing primary school as I don't have cash to pay for her secondary school education.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is when I go out in the morning to do casual work like ploughing other people's farms and I manage to get some cash in the evening. This makes me happy as I will be able to buy food for my family.
