How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I have a great change in my life especially on medication. I had a fracture on my left knee that needed a good amount on treatments. I have been able to meet the medical bills and I have since improved. I can now walk steadily and do my daily chores effectively without asking for assistance from neighbors.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has given power in the hands of the people to make decisions of their choice which is very good. I can see many exercise true liberation from poverty as they have furnished their houses, paid school fees and started small scale business. However, some people never did well as they used the money on drunkardness and wasted the money instead. I feel some policy should be put in place to guide the recipients on spending.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
It has always been my ambition to live a better life. I spent the transfer on purchase of two cows that I hope will provide me with milk and improve my household nutrition. I also intend to sell the surplus milk and use the money to pay fees for my grandchildren. I also spent the remaining part in buying a solar lighting system. This has enabled me to save a lot on money that I initially used to buy paraffin. Solar light is also clean and efficient as it has no respiratory infection related ailments as compared to smoky tin lamps.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that l am now staying in a nice plastered house. I no longer spent the transfer to buy parrafin since l manage to buy solar system.

The moment l received the transfer l was very happy that l could not hide the joy from any one since l was smiling all through.

I spent most of the transfer to plaster my house since it was too dusty and this was good for my health. I also spent the transfer to buy dairy for my future use. The remaining balance l spent to buy solar system, so l no longer spent the money to buy parrafin.

The biggest hardship I face in my life difficulty in meeting my medical bills. I have been struggling to raise money for my medication since I fractured my leg.
