How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Currently, I have been using the transfers on household expenditure like buying maize monthly to last us till the next harvest season for consumption. I am grateful to GiveDirectly for making sure there is food on my table for my family. I am also able to pay school fees for my child who has now cleared the outstanding fee balances that needed to be cleared in time and now has ample time studying and possibly passing the exams.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I have no additional goal at the moment as I use the transfers to buy food for consumption monthly.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I have bought a goat for the financial security of the family. I can sell the goat once it is grown and buy clothes, food and other personal effects. I have always wanted to venture into livestock farming to help raise income for the family. I cannot thank GiveDirectly enough for making my dream come true.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I plan to venture into farming to help in income generation for the family. I also wish to save and venture into livestock rearing for the financial security of the family. These will help in the generation of income for our upkeep.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was in that, I feel I am empowered as a woman. I feel independent and more valuable unlike before. Now, I can buy all my personal items with ease. I no longer depend on my siblings wholly. I am no longer a burden to them like I was initially. It is usually hard to borrow money and I always felt bad and embarrassed but I had no option. I am happy that borrowing is no longer my habit nowadays since I have my monthly transfer which I budget well with.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I do not have any new goals in the next four months because I am not yet ready to start a project yet. I want to focus on my current goals once they are established is when I will now start thinking of other goals depending on how the circumstances will be. I have a feeling that If I start different ONES at the same time I might fail to accomplish all of them.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months is that I was able to buy two goats. To me, this is the best investment anyone can ever think of because of the many benefits they come with. They eat very little, they reproduce very first, they require very little attention and also their milk is very nutritious hence the high market demand. When they increase in number I will be selling some in order to take care of my needs and emergencies. Previously, I had some but they, unfortunately. My hopes of rearing animal had died. I thank GiveDirectly because am back on track doing what I love the most.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I do not expect my life to change in the next six months because I am still figuring out some of the best projects I need to indulge in. I have not found one yet. I do not want to start something that might fail due to lack of enough background checks. To me, I feel that rushing into something will not bring a good result. As for now, I think it is wise to ensure that I meet my basic needs.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Apart from the best harvest I had as a result of these transfers, I have also never gone with food ever since I received the first transfer from GD. All my family financial needs have always been depended on my farm produce. I have tried going for seminars so as to enhance my farm produce but without hybrid seeds and fertilizers, it has not been possible. These transfers have helped reduce my financial burden to an extent I have always had enough food in the house. Before, I would struggle to put food on the table especially when my children are sent home for school fees. As per now, I feel my biggest worry has been solved with GD.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal is to start a business. Since I have always depended on my farm for survival, life has been hard on me because we harvest twice a year. This year, I would like to venture into a business so that I can get extra income to help me sustain and meet my family demands well. This also will help me give my children a good inheritance when I finally die.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my life since I started receiving these transfers in that, this is the year I have had the best harvest in my life ever. This is because I have always harvested 2 sacks of maize but this year, I harvested 8 sacks of maize. I used the transfers I got from Give Directly to buy hybrid maize seeds and fertilizer which I used during planting and for top dressing. Before the transfers, I used to plant with local maize seeds without fertilizers and I have been harvesting the 2 sacks of maize. I feel very happy because I will sell part of the harvest to raise money to solve other family financial problems.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
Now that I can be able to support my faimly well, I want to improve the status of my house. I have been living in a semi-permanent house and because I have always had very little income, I have not managed to paint it. When I sell my harvest, I will get enough money top pay for school fees for my children and use the rest to paint my house. I would want it to look neat and presentable so that I don't advertise my poverty to everyone though my house.
