What did you spend your second transfer on?
First of all I spent 800,000 UGX on buying two cows for my children, and iron sheets worth 200,000 UGX. I am planning to spend the remainder of the cash transfer to take care of my family.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
We are very happy because famine would have killed us if it was not for Givedirectly. Most of us would still be sleeping in dilapidated huts. Givedirectly is my savior and I do not see anything bad with Givedirectly's mission of helping the people. May givedirectly live longer to serve and help the needy.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Infact everyone in the village is wondering how my life has changed tremendously. I am very happy, I have even gained weight and I look healthier than before. Back then I was very miserable and I would go looking for manual labour to make ends meet. But ever since I received the transfers my family is happy and we feed well.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I now have a peaceful mind and my quality of life has improved grately, I used to worry a lot wondering how to get money for taking care of the family,I used to do cashual work in people's gardens for a whole day in order to earn 2000 Uganda shillings because I did not have my own garden to farm in,life was so hard, but life has now changed,I have a peace of mind because I have got back my garden where I can do farming, I did not have any mattress in my house and I used not to sleep well, i am now sleeping much more comfortably on a mattress, changing diet was hard we could eat the same type of food and the food was not enough for my family but now I have enough food for the family and we can afford to change diet, previously my family lacked clothing,my children used to wear dirty torn clothes, we now have enough clothing, generally life has improved.

The happiest part of the day is lunch, after my children taking ameal .I feel relieved and relaxed because they are satisfied.

Receiving this money will help me build ironroofed house for my children since they sleep currently in grassthatched roof. This will stop me from the expenses of changing the roof after every year,so I can save money to feed them
