Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was very happy for receiving money that I didn't work for. I was doing business prior to receiving the money, but my profits had not reach to the amount of money I received from GiveDirectly. My two brothers supposed to travel for studies. I really confused on what to do for them. Luckily I received this money from GiveDirectly.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
My little brother school fees has been paid for this academy year. My other brother wouldn't have gone to attend the Islamic reading program if I have not received this money. My main focus is to see my brothers in good things, and thank God that I have settled them. I have started a little business that I can count on as my own.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent some of my money to pay my little brother school fees who was not in school almost a year and half ago. I bought some clothes for the smaller one who went to attend the Islamic reading program. I bought little goods with the balance money to start up new business that will help to sustain my siblings and I.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I have not completed my high school education because of financial difficulty. If I receive this cash transfer, I will use a portion of it to complete my schooling and also send my children to school. I will use the balance of the transfer to secure a land to build a decent house for my children and I.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Two months ago, I gave birth to a bouncing baby boy. I could not afford to get everything needed for the baby. I was so worried because I did not know where to turn since the father was not also in a good position to provide it. To my utmost surprise, my sister paid me a visit few days later and brought everything that my son needed. I was so excited because my burden was finally lifted.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I do not have any means of earning an income presently. My kids and I survive on subsistence farming which requires very hard labor and sometimes we do not get enough crops from the farm to sustain us. I have to sometimes seek the help of some close relatives to feed my kids.
