How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than if I had not received cash transfers in that I now have self esteem since we have completed paying bride price which has made me a complete house wife. Before bride price was paid, there was stress since my parents were demanding for it.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well through community sensitization which has empowered the poor. I do not see what they have failed to do well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second cash transfer worth UGX 1,633,000 for buying three cows at UGX 1,200,000 that was used for paying my bride price, I paid a debt of UGX 200,000, I bought clothes worth UGX 150,000, I then acquired utensils at UGX 20,000, chairs UGX 24,000 and the balance of UGX 39,000 was spent on food.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I have acquired household items which I did not have before. I can now host visitors without shame.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received the transfer I felt so happy, I was in the garden when I saw the message and I got more energy to continue to working.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer for buying household items (chairs, kitchen utensils, bedsheets).I aso bought food and I have kept 1, 200, 000ugx which I intend to spend on purchase of cows.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means i will be able to buy some livestock. I also intend to do a tailoring course.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the noon time after a meal.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I am faced with is inadequacy of money to meet the needs of my family.
