Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I promised myself that once I am still on payroll from Give Directly I must build a good house. Currently, we are still staying in our parent's home though we are many so the space is limited, we have a plan of putting up our home to enable us to have space to invest in other developmental projects like starting poultry rearing. Therefore my new or additional goal is to build a spacious house that will accommodate my growing family comfortably.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
Give directly has transformed my life in that I have a voice in my house because I can also provide for my family without asking for financial assistance from my husband and this is the biggest difference in my daily life. Initially, I used to beg every single day for money, at times I could get hurt with the kind of response from him. I had to be patient and ly low because I had no alternative for financial assistance. I used to console myself that I must preserve for the sake of my children. When Give Directly came to our village, my heart was filled with joy. I am staying a happy life simply because I can provide for my family without necccesaryly begging for financial assistance from husband, in fact, at times he borrows from me.WE have a lot of peace in my family and also my husband now values me because I am able to buy food and cutter for other family financial needs like paying school fees.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I have been thinking of a business idea, thus I came up with cereal business because it easy to manage and getting goods is also not difficult. I have a friend who is operating the same business thus I have also done research on how best to go about it. I am very optimistic that it will work and ill get the best out of my business to help me support my family.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was because I have been able to achieve most of my goals. The things that I needed as a woman in my kitchen like decent utensils and enough food is not a problem anymore. Before then, I could borrow from neighbors. I could be told bitter words which broke me and left me shattered and hurt. It reached a point where I was ashamed to ask for help from them. I feel good because I no longer borrow anything from them. I have made several development moves including buying a hen which I can resell especially when I am stuck. I thank Give Directly for their assistance and the great impact they have brought in my life.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal is to save money for my son's education. He will be joining high school next year and I do not want to fumble when that time comes. I want to ensure that he doesn't lack anything that might hinder his education. Seeing him in school pursuing the next level of his studies will make me a happy mother and this is why I am very determined to reach this goal.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
When we started getting transfers every month I decided to join a savings group in our village. Apparently, group members are all beneficiaries of Give Directly. I cannot complain so far because when it was my turn to get the money, I got it on time. We sat down with my husband and decided to start a business. Today he sells mandazis and french fries in Nairobi. This business has been able to support our family. I can attest that taking care of my needs has been easy unlike before where I could ask for money for everything and he was not in a position to give me. It was a burden to him since he was a casual laborer and the work is usually unreliable. Being able to take care of our daily needs with ease is the biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My expectation in the next six months is to establish my homestead. Currently, I stay at my parents in law compound. This set up is usually controversial since we are different households with different values and beliefs. This usually leads to conflicts and quarrels among ourselves. I know that when I move to a different compound and establish my home I will be able to enjoy the peace and freedom which I have yearned for a long time.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
The monthly transfers have really helped me in terms of getting finaces that helps me in taking care of my financial needs on a day to day basis. To make matters worse, my husband lost his job and he has not yet secured another employment opportunity so most of the times I am forced to share the money with him and that is how we keep going.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I am planning to join a table banking group which will act as some sort of savings for me. the main reason why I want to join the group is to make savings every other month so that come next year my son will have enough money to cater for his school fees.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I would say that the biggest difference for me is that I have been able to buy a few things which I would have never bought were it not for the transfers. For instance, I bought a lot of utensils which are quite expensive and actually beyond my financial ability. The quantity of the utensils I bought was so high that were it not for the transfers, I would not have managed to purchase them to date.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I believe that my life will change on a positive note because I expect to build a new home for my family because where we live today we are forced to squeeze in a small structure that can barely accommodate all of us. Once we get a much bigger house then everyone will feel free to live comfortably in the house without feeling like they are squeezed in a small structure where they lack their own privacy.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was in that, I am a happy farmer and peaceful at heart because I managed to join one of the NGO's called One Acre Fund. This is where we as farmers are allowed to pay for farm inputs in bits as we enjoy the benefits of getting the inputs early before the planting seasons. Now I am sure of getting good yields that my family will enjoy for a long time and this will reduce the cost of purchasing which is expensive.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I do not have any new goals in the next four months. I want to concentrate on keeping my savings in the merry-go-round which I will finally use in starting up a business so as to get income at least something which I will be sure of daily.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months is that I was able to take care of my needs and emergencies easily. Previously, I could borrow foodstuff from a friend of mine who is a shop keeper. Borrowing was not easy because he had to ask for the money after some time. I had to resort on doing odd jobs which were unreliable so as to clear the debt. This is a forgotten story nowadays because I budget well with the transfers which I get monthly from GiveDirectly.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change in the next six months in that, I will have started saving towards my child's education. Saving for me has been difficult but with the assuarity of the monthly payment, I am certain that I will manage to achieve this goal. This will change my life because I will see the dream of taking my child to high school becoming a reality.
