How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different now that there's a significant increase in the production of milk which has led to an increased income for us as a family. This is as a result of improved feeds for my livestock. I am glad that I have a also planted more feeds for my cows. This will ensure that there is always enough supply of feeds to my cows and ensure a continued and constant supply of milk I am also glad that I now have a tank. This helps in ensuring that we access clean water sufficiently. This will reduce the cases of sickness that is associated with contaminated water.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I loved the transparency that GiveDirectly has, always giving information where necessary. I also love the concern that they have for us by doing a follow up once the transfer has been sent in order to find out if there was any problem faced. In my opinion, I did not see any challenge, every step of the process was done well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I bought a 5000litre water tank using part of the second transfer. This was necessitated by the fact that we usually have a water problem and scarcity in our locality. We mostly depended on water from a nearby water pound which quite unhygienic because even the livestock drinks from the same pond. This tank will help us harvest and store water during rainy season and it will us through to the next season. I also bought napier grass for planting and paid for labor for the farmhand.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
In my community, our main source of water is the nearby river. Most of the time the water is contaminated because of the activities being carried out such as bathing and laundry. My main worry has always been to have access to clean water and for this reason, having this water tank which I bought courtesy of GiveDirecty's transfer is the biggest difference in my daily. This is because I have already harvested clean water which my family uses for drinking and cooking. I am glad that I have reduced medical expenses which would be resulted in the consumption of dirty water.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my money, I was very happy since the way I was instructed by the GiveDirectly's staffs happened .Secondly,I knew I would acquire most of my pressing needs like buying a water tank to facilitate easy access to water in my household.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent a larger part of my first transfer to buy nappier grass seeds and for cultivating nappier grass . I am optimistic of enough yields from the harvest since this time I have done a bigger piece due to the availability of capital . I bought a 5000 liters water tank . I also bought clothes for my two children and food for my family's too

What does receiving this money mean to you?
For a long time I've had an idle land due to financial constraints. I am planning to use my first transfer to plough it and plant Napier grass for dairy farming. I am also planning to spend $100 to build dairy shades for my 3 cows. I will also have to employ an assistant to fend for my livestock while I'm away at a cost of $40 per month
What is the happiest part of your day?
I spend most of my time with my livestock because besides their products as source of income, they serve a sentimental purpose in my life. This is the happiest part of my day
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
For the period that I've been a dairy farmer, market for my products has always been the biggest challenge. A local dairy plant purchases our milk at $0.3 per litre. It is hard to make progress with such less value for my labour and efforts.
