How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different from how it was in that, it is my first time to own a cow. This has made me relate well to my neighbors. They used to deny me milk even when they had it in plenty due to their selfish reasons. I always thought they should consider people like me who did not have cows. I am happy I own one I will always subsidize the prices to the less privileged. I also feel good because I no longer waste a lot of time going from one homestead to another comparing price to check whether I can find someone who can sell milk to me at a lower price. I now have enough time to do other household chores.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I loved some principles that GiveDirectly used while conducting their work. There was no discrimination at all. Giving us the freedom to make our decisions to plan on how to use our money was the best thing. The officers were friendly and made us ask all the questings that we had.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent part of my transfer to purchase a dairy cow. I decided to buy one so that I would stop buying milk. This would greatly help me cut my daily expenses. True to my word, I have managed to save a lot. Instead of spending, I am earning money through the sale of milk from this cow. This is much better than being a housewife. I am glad that I do not depend on my husband to carter for everything but help him meet some of the household needs. Additionally, I bought two water tanks. Having them has saved me the time that I used to spend to and from the river which was far off. To add to that, the water is also clean. I was also lucky to build a cowshed. The transfer has transformed my life and it is my first time to own cows.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I have bought a dairy cow. I used to buy milk from my neighbors and it was so costly for me because I depend on the casual jobs in the village. A time we could miss to get casual jobs and this could mean that we could go without milk and breakfast. We do casual jobs in the village and the amount of money that we get through this kind of jobs is so small and cannot gather for all the basic needs and school fees for our children. Currently, I no longer buy milk and the money that I could have used to buy milk I use it to buy seeds for planting on my farm. I am so happy for the support it has changed my living standard. My children are now happy because they no longer miss having milk and breakfast as before.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment when I received my money I felt so happy. It was very early in the money when I heard a message from my phone and when I checked it, I felt so happy because I have never received such amount of money before. I informed my spouse who was equally so happy. We knew we would be able to buy a dairy cow and cut the cost of buying milk daily.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer on buying a dairy cow , This is because I used to buy milk from my neighbors and it was so costly for me. The rests of the money I used it to buy utensils, clothes and food for the family.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that I will be able to actualize my dream of being a poultry farmer.Poultry farming does very well in our area due to the warm climate.Venturing into the business requires me to first fence my compound with a suitable fence meant for chicken keeping.I have not been able to do this because of insufficient funds.I will also use a part of the transfers to buy around a hundred young chicks to start with. With the proceeds,I know that my family will have a source of income
What is the happiest part of your day?
As I wake up in the morning,I lay out my plan for the day.The activities I engage in are mostly:cleaning around the home, washing clothes and later going to the farm to weed or plant.By midday,I am mostly done with most of these and I get back to the house to prepare lunch for my family. At this time of the day,I listen to some inspiring gospel music that makes me very happy. This thus makes afternoon the happiest part of my day
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Since graduating from the university in the year 2015,I have not been able to secure a job.The bad economic times in the country have made it difficult to get employment.Having a family requires that one has a source of income to meet the daily needs of the family. This has been a struggle for us,and despite having been educated to university level,I sometimes feel like a laughing stock since I am just at home like the rest of the villagers who didnt even get basic education. This is the biggest hardship I have faced
