How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
No! I have been making farms all of my life. I make gari and sell at local markets. The money I made from farina sales was not enough to cater to my family and pay my children tuition. However, I could afford just a few of them tuition. The rest of my children had to stay home. I was so excited when I started receiving payments from GiveDirectly. My old goal has been to see my family live a better life. I am so happy for this opportunity. Our lives will never be the same again.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done nothing wrongly. It's cash program is a live changer. I am so grateful that I got enrolled in this program.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I was overwhelmed when I received my payment. I was a farmer. All my life I have been farming. I am so grateful that with the GiveDirectly program I am now a business woman. I used some of my payment to start a new business. Profits generated from the business will be used to cater to my family. I also used some of my money to buy cement. I am so grateful for this opportunity.
