I spent my first transfer to purchase household items(a mattress, a bed, bigger saucepans), a solar and seeking medical treatment for my kidneys. I have not yet spent UGX 500,000 but I am planning to spend it for buying bricks.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to build a better house for my family. The one that I currently sleep in is dilapidated and I think it can fall at any time. I also hope to buy a cow that can reproduce and provide milk for my family. This will support me in proving for my children in future. I will be in position to sell off some and raise some money with which to take care of future eventualities.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happiest in the morning when I wake up healthy. It is because I can work, walk and serve my family.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I am faced with is taking care of my children alone as a single parent. From the time I seperated with my husband, he has never bothered to support me. I take care of school fees, feeding, medical bills and all other aspects of life and yet I am poor. I don't have land that I can cultivate to get food to feed the family but beeing a single mother, I have to explore all avenues to see to it that my family feeds. I do casual labour most of the time to earn a living. For the times that I have been able to hire farm land, I have done so for the sake of my children.
