How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than if I had not recieved cash transfers in that, I am now happy because of the support I have received from Give Directly. Much as I am a widow, I have acquired high self esteem. Before, I received cash transfer, I had low self esteem, felt neglected and I used to sleep in a leaking grass thatched house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, Give Directly has done well by offering a widow like me unconditional support that I have used for building a permanent house and beddings which has improved on my living standard. It's difficult to find what they have not done well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second cash transfer for buying building materials like sand, bricks, iron sheets, timber, nails, whoop iron and a door at UGX 1,162,000, I paid tuition for my children worth UGX 95,000, I bought beddings at UGX 140,000, feeding costed 18400, saved UGX 87,600 for any emergency.
