How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different. We used to be low economically but GiveDirectly made our lives better. We now have a cow and a new house. No woes of the leaking roof of the previous house. I also have chairs and a table in the house. I no longer borrow chairs from neighbors like I used to when I had visitors. I bought the furniture courtesy of GiveDirectly and I am grateful.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I do not have any new or additional goal at the moment. I intend to work hard to put our children through school by buying and selling tea.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in daily life is that we are well fed as a family. We used to buy food scantily depending on casual work that pays meagerly.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect to do casual work near home in less than six months to come. This will enable me to have some extra time to attend to my cow and be with my children; to even cook them fresh meals. Because I do casual work far from home I lack the time that I feel I need to spend at home. The reason why I currently go for work far from home is because there is more work there hence more pay. I am however willing to take less work in the neighborhood and have more time at home. I will be comfortable with less pay because GiveDirectly transfer has met our need of food.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I work as a casual labourer. This job pays very little and sometimes it is difficult to raise enough money to feed my family and provide other basic needs. This is the biggest hardship i have faced in my life
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening.Having accomplished my tasks for the day,i sit down to prepare the evening meal for my family knowing that i have been able to provide for them for the day.Seeing them enjoy what i have offered them makes me very happy
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
Am planning to spend the transfer in buying a dairy cow.I have young children who need milk and so this transfer will help me fulfil that need
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
My family and I lived in an old grass thatched house for some years and we saw it necessary to build an iron roofed house. For several months,i went on with my casual labor jobs(plucking tea) and saved up enough money to buy iron sheets to build the house we live in now.Accomplishing this is the achievement am proudest of
