How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Having a daily income from sale of milk is going to be my most valuable achievement this years. After the corona virus outbreak, the business I used to run on selling second hand clothes in local markets here has been banned. This has made me go back to a point where I earn nothing at all. However milk production from the cow that I bought will cushion me. I am so grateful that I will still be making some money while staying at home for the next several months.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly did well in by teaching us well before sending these transfers. The training before we got the money helped many of us to access the money from the mobile money account smoothly. It would have been chaos had it not been for the proper way in which they taught us first.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent the money I received on buying a cow. A heifer will mature fast and bring forth an offspring and pay an income from the sale of milk .In my home area, many people practice milk production and it is the main agricultural activity here. I believe that having income from this will assist me in school payment.I also bought food for the household. I finally bought clothes and paid school fees for my children.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means clearing school fees for my three children next year, two in the university and one in secondary school. I will then use remaining money to buy one dairy cow to give me an assurance of daily income sustainability from selling milk to ensure my children never lack basic needs.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Coming back home every evening after having gotten at least some profit for the day from my business is what keeps me happy
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Unsustainable source of income has been the biggest challenge i face. My spouse is a teacher and i have a business of selling second hand clothes, which is nearly collapsing due to unreliable clients given that this is a village setting. My spouse now supports all our family needs which is so burdensome to him.
