How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Had it not for money, I would not have bought a cow which is currently providing milk for my family. Sometimes I also sell milk for income. My children are now happy, their health improved and I nolonger face stress which usually comes out of lack of money. When the money came, I procured more stock of food which fed the family for a couple of months. We no longer have such problems because it was completely eradicated.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
From the negative point of view, GD does not do anything wrong. Actually all the good things are attributed to this organization. Giving us unconditional cash for our own use is something that we are all proud of.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent the second transfer on procurement of materials which was used in building the house. We have been wishing to have a new iron roofed good house, but, we've not ne in a position to due to financial problems. I also spent the other part in buying a cow. We now boast of keeping cows just like all other members of the village.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced is not being able to provide for my family. There has not been any maize harvest for the past seven years and since this is the food crop we depend on,it becomes difficult to feed my family without a stable source of income.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening. This is the time when my children are back from school and we all sit as a family to share a meal as well as the day's experiences
What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money is a blessing to me.I have never received such a large amount of money and i have been praying that God opens a way so that i can be able to buy a cow to feed my children. This is an answered prayer
