How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
With the GiveDirectly cash transfers I purchased livestock that I intend to take to avail to my spouse's family as dowry. Previously, I had no financial support to enable me find a life partner. I feel so blessed that I will officially be recognized in the community as a married man.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done so well in helping the poor people through sending them unconditional cash transfers. These cash transfers have transformed very many impoverished households. Many have built good houses and established sustainable businesses.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I am planning to spend the second cash transfer to complete the marriage rites of my wife.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is the changed lifestyle as I feed and dress well as compared to before when yes, I used to feed and dress but not on balanced dietary food and decent designer clothing. I also I feel confident that using the cattle that I bought, I will be in position to fully marry my wife as it is in my culture to give dowry to the lady's parents for appreciation.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my money, I really felt so happy. This is because I had got money that I would now use to buy cattle to marry my wife.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer Ugx 1010000 to buy three heads of cattle. I then used Ugx 420000 to buy a bed, mattress, and clothing. I am still using the balance to cater for my daily needs such as feeding, transportation among others.
