How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that I have managed to construct a decent house and I have acquired nice household items that I did not have before.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion Give Directly did well to give me money that has changed my status in this village. There is nothing they are not doing well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer for buying materials for constructing an iron roofed house. I choose to construct because grass thatch has become scarse.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that now I sleep on a mattress unlike before I used to sleep on a mat.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my money, I became very happy because I knew most of my problems were solved.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer to paid debts worth 700,000ugx, School fees at 250,000ugx and school supplies at 30,000ugx, food(maize) at 60,000ugx, and a mattress at 110,000ugx. I'm saving 550,000ugx to buy construction materials.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I plan to use the transfers for building iron-roofed house. This is because having a permanent house shall reduce expenses incured to maintain grass thatched house.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of the is afternoon and is a time I chat interesting stories with neighbours.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face is poverty. My family does not have enough food to sustain normal meals.
