How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
The other difference in my life in the last four months is that my children are rarely sent home for school fees arrears as before. I used to struggle to raise money to meet my family needs in time and as well as paying their fees arrears in time. They would be sent home every now and again. I would have to talk to the teachers to allow them back in school as I still look for the money to pay. Receiving these transfers changed my story. In case they are sent home for fees arrears, I only go to pay not to ask the teachers to give me more time to look for the money.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal in the next four months is to buy a goat or a sheep. I have desired to have livestock in my compound but due to low income, I was not able to. Through livestock, I will have an investment whose value increases on a daily basis and can increase in number when they reproduce.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my life since I started receiving these transfers is that I have a solar system in my house. As a result of low income from casual work, I was not able to raise money to pay for a solar system. I was not able to even pay for it on a monthly basis because income was very inconsistent. I could not keep up with buying kerosene on a daily basis. With the transfers, I was able to purchase a solar system which I have been paying for on a monthly basis with the transfers. I feel so relieved from having to part with some amount on a daily basis to buy kerosene.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change in the next six months in that I will be having livestock in my life. In my area, when you do not have any livestock, you are considered very poor. This has been my condition but with the transfers, I want to see a change. The change will be evident in my life through the livestock which I want to buy through GD transfers.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was in that, I have been able to invest my last few transfers in livestock (goats). I count myself lucky because I have goats which I did not own before.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal is to pay dowry. I have stayed with my wife for the longest period of time but I have never made our union legal through dowry payment which is a way of formalizing a marriage in our community. This is a very expensive ceremony that I wasn't able to cater for with the little pay which I got from the odd jobs.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
In the last four months, my family members had better meals because we invested in farming and got good yields. Previously, we could work on people's farm just to get the meagre pay for our daily upkeep and this made us prepare our farm late translating to the low yields. Those were the toughest moments because we had no choice but to buy food most of the time which was expensive. I am glad that we now focus on other needs like paying school fees and concentrating more on our farm. This is so far the biggest difference that I have experienced in my daily life.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My plan is to use my next transfers to purchase more goats and I am hoping that in the next six months, I will have more flock.
