What did you spend your third transfer on?
When I received my third transfer, I spent it on 3 steel windows, 2 steel doors and a solar panel. The solar panel has actually offered me a relief-initially we depended on paraffin as our major source of energy which was too expensive to manage and maintain. It was unhealthy too for our lives and this could sometimes discourage my children from doing their homework. I am happy that this is no longer the case.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been if I never received cash transfers in that currently we dress up properly well, we live in a more secure house-one with burglar proof doors and windows and lastly, my home is now the place to be-it looks more attractive.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my own opinion, what Give Directly does well is that they send us money directly to us and again, we are given money to spend the best way we like, however, I have a feeling that they are some community members who are more vulnerable and therefore Give Directly should intervene in their budget making process to help them prioritize their needs.
