How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
In the coming year, I have the hope to live in harmony with my Husband. I do hope to see myself able to support my family for long term, paying school fees for my children with full abilities to participate in community economic association.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done a lot in changing our lives. I love the way I became a bit financially stable. I wish GiveDirectly to keep impacting the lives of many families.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
From the first transfer, I started to purchased food for my family becose the money found a huge hunger in my house, thereafter, i bought a land at $300 that will be helping in cultivation in order to get food and what to bring at market. For the second transfer I received,I bougth livestock that include 3 moutons at $90 and a pig for $20 for me to be able to get manure from to domostic animals for next possibility. In addition to that, I paid back all the loans I owed my neigbors. The transfers were so signifacant to the extent I couldn't image at all.

What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
When we get the transfer the first thing we are planning is to buy small livestocks like 3 goats that will cost $100 and 1 sheep for $35. These ones will give birth like in one year and in the future we will have to sell them to get money needed for other household needs like buying food and clothes. The other thing we are planning is to buy food because we don't have enough food at home, the food will cost $180. We will pay back loan of $75 for solar electricity given by Tubura. We will also buy 2 mattresses and sheets which will cost $120 because the ones we have are very old. We will buy clothes for us and for children for $50. Lastly, we will save $200 for our son's education who is in P6 now, he is preparing to go to senior level.
What is the happiest part of your day?
"Nothing special happened to us in last 6 months, but I can say that one year ago, my daughter got married and that has brought joy in our home" Said the recipient. "When we grow crops and we get good production from it, when we have enough food at home and when no one is sick from my family , I feel happy." Said the husband.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The main challenge we are facing is that we have small land for agriculture , and because of that we don't produce enough, hence the insufficient food for my family. In addition to that we are worried about our children's future because we will not be able to give them their inheritance because we don't have enough pieces of land that will be given to them. The other challenge is that we don't have small livestocks like goats and sheeps and they are very supportive because when you have them you cane sell them and get the money to be used in other needs.
