How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I have a new goal which is to build my new house. We haven't had the opportunity. My family depends on farming and the farming engagement hasn't been able to help us secure a new construction due to the low income. My family and I live in a small house that is not enough to accommodate all us and that's is why I am building a new house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion Givedirectly is doing well by providing direct cash support to almost the entire town. They have helped us to realise our potential and our long time dreams are coming to reality. Thank God for them.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used my recent money to purchase my building materials and paid casual laborious to cut my stick. I also used portion of my money to buy food for the family because the rice price has increase in recent time.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
"When I receive the transfer, I will build a house for my family. The house we live in currently belongs a lady name Kazia. She told us to stay in the house to be cutting the grass from around it,and it feels like a burden to my family , because even if the grass is low she will still demand us to cut it lower. Living in this house makes me feel uncomfortable, because there are lots of leakage on the roof. When it's raining no where to sit apart from the room. Building our own house will stop us from catching cold from leakage, because there will be new zinc, and there will be lot of space for us to sit as a family even when it's raining".
What is the happiest part of your day?
" What really brought Joy to my life over the last six months was,July 26 my friend bought me a sport fashion slippers. It was a new slipper that everyone wanted to wear in this town. I never expected it, because no body has ever given me a gift so valuable like that before. He surprised me with the slippers, and because of the I felt that someone cares for me. I had an old slippers that I used to wear, and was saving money to buy a new one, until he bought me the slippers. I had to use the money I was saving for another purpose".
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
"The challenge I'm facing currently is shelter. The house we are living in doesn't belong to us and besides, there are lots of leakage. When it's raining there is no where else to sit apart from the room, and it's uncomfortable for my family. Most times we catch cold from the leakage of the house".
